Licensing guidelines

What you need BEFORE getting started

  • Please fill out our onboarding form HERE.

  • Review licensing requirements by state Click Here

  • In the document for your state, you’ll find the link for scheduling your test and your fingerprint requirements. It’s very important to schedule your test first, then have fingerprints done before your test date to speed up your licensing.

  • Schedule your exam through your State’s Department of Insurance Proctoring Service Website. (Found under your state in link above) • Schedule your exam 10-14 days from today. This will give you enough time to complete your pre licensing education requirements and study) You can always reschedule it at the same website if you must move it.

Pre Licensing Details

  • Register for your state course and complete it through XCEL Solutions

  • Select Life pre-licensing or Life and Health Pre-licensing. Add the course to your cart

  • Add the course to your cart and go to the cart.

  • Select Life pre-licensing or Life and Health Pre-licensing.

  • Add the course to your cart and go to the cart.

  • Once in cart apply the following discount code: FFLTRIDENTLIFE CS9X57. This will make the course FREE in most states.

  • Click SIGN UP to create a NEW STUDENT ACCOUNT.

IMPORTTANT

This course only lasts for 30 days, if you need more time you can extend for $44.99 through the course site.

State Licensing

  • Take and pass your EXAM! (You need 70 to pass)

  • Apply for your license at HERE

  • Create a profile and then request your license. Make sure you select Individual (Unless your business has its own insurance license) and permanent for license type.

  • Your license number gets emailed to you first (Usually 1-7 days, varies by state) then 2-3 days later you get your NPN (national producer number) You’ll need both to get started with contracting.

  • Call your resident State’s Department of Insurance daily & ask them to check on your progress to speed up the process
